The Gustavsberg pottery and porcelain production in the southeast of Stockholm has a long and varied history. Wilhelm Kåge’s Argenta vase from the 1940s. Wilhelm Kåge initiated the Gustavsberg studio in 1942, which would become the creative hub of the ceramic factory.
Around the beginning of the twentieth century the company started to produce pottery with floral patterns under the direction of G Wennerberg. Argenta visades upp på världsutställningarna i såväl London 1931 som i New York 1936 På Gustavsberg experimenterade man även med att utöka den här serien med en röd, brun samt Celadon glasyr, men dessa gjordes i väldigt begränsad upplaga och väldigt få av dessa exemplar finns ute på marknaden.
